Reading ThriveColumbus
ThriveColumbus is a static website. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and we do not run advertising trackers or analytics that follow you around the web. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly essential cookies and processes standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. The weather in the masthead is fetched by your own browser directly from Open-Meteo when you open the page. When you tap a headline, you leave for that publisher's website, and their privacy policy applies there.
How we find stories
ThriveColumbus is a curated index of links. Alongside publisher feeds, we use Meta's official Instagram Graph API ("Business Discovery") to read public posts from public Instagram business and creator accounts — for example, a venue announcing a show or a restaurant posting a special — so we can link to noteworthy ones. We only access content those accounts have made public, only through Meta's authorized API, and we store only what curation requires (such as the post's caption, timestamp, and link) for as long as the item is listed. We do not collect information about individual Instagram users, and we never sell data.
Your choices
If you operate an Instagram business account and would prefer we not consider its public posts for curation, or you have any privacy question or data request, contact us through the ThriveColumbus Facebook Page and we will honor it promptly.
